Loving your iPhone 5s but it’s not asking for your fingerprint when purchasing apps at the App Store? These incredibly easy fixes may help.
If you already own the iPhone 5s, you must be enjoying the Touch ID scanner to unlock your iPhone. It does provide extended convenience especially if you need to access your iPhone. You no longer need to manually type in your 4 digit PIN. If you’ve also been using it for purchasing apps on the App Store, it must be really convenient without having to enter your Apple ID password. However, if you notice that it’s no longer working as it should, you can try some of the following quick fixes.
1. First of all, check the very basic. Go to Settings and check the under Fingerprints if iTunes & App Store is switched on as shown in the screenshot above. If that’s set but still getting the same problem, see number 2.
2. Check that Require Password in Settings > General > Restrictions is set to off instead of Immediately. Some people reported that it will fix the problem. Still doesn’t work?
3. Try to quit or exit all opened apps, go to the App Store, try to pick any free app and try again. If it works, then great! If not, try the next step.
4. If all fails then probably this is related on how your credit card information is handled by your iPhone. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID > View Apple ID > Payment Information > Security Code. Try to input your Security Code here. This is not automatically filled out when you have performed any data restoration from a backup before.
All the above possible fixes should help, if not you can always get in touch with Apple tech support and they will be able to identify if there’s an issue with the phone, your iCloud settings etc.
