Are you a Straight Talk user but can’t send MMS or no internet after officially unlocking your AT&T iPhone with us? Try this easy fix.
I’m writing this post especially for US-based customers who use Straight Talk SIM on their recently unlocked AT&T iPhone. Some reported that they are not able to use data or MMS after successfully unlocking their AT&T iPhone. Unless if the iPhone was natively operating on its official carrier, some additional configuration is required to enable data or MMS.
First thing you may notice is that you’re not able to edit the APN settings, this appears to be a common problem with some carriers. If you’re on other carriers, click here on how to install your carrier’s APN profile.
1. With your iPhone on and activated, simply pop in a SIM from your iPhone’s official carrier e.g. AT&T SIM card. Shortly you will notice you can edit the settings under:
Settings > General > Cellular > Cellular Data Network
2. Input the details for Straight Talk:
MMS Proxy: 220.127.116.11:80
MMS Max Size: 1048576
MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
3. Once done, take out the official SIM card, insert your the non-official SIM card and it should work now.
Test it. If it works, great. If it doesn’t, try to reboot your iPhone. If that doesn’t work, double check that you have typed in the correct information.
Finally, if it does work, when you connect it to iTunes, it might ask you to update your Carrier settings – decline, or it could undo your tweaking.
Do note you can also do the above if your device is jailbroken and by installing Tetherme.
