iResQ Repair Reveals Photos of New iPhone 5 and iPad Mini Dock Connectors

The news of Apple shrinking the size of iDevice dock connector is probably 99% true just by looking at these photos!

The folks at iResQ revealed the following photos on their blog yesterday. After much speculation, we can now be certain that the upcoming iPhone 5 and the rumored iPad mini will have the 8-pin dock connector.

As you can see from these photos, there are 8 gold pins lined up inside the slot and the metal base will probably be the ninth pin.

It’s also obvious that the headphone jack will be at the bottom of the device and is built together with the dock connector. Apple may have changed this designed based on the feedback from iPhone users.

We’re less than a month away from the official launch date so expect more rumors to come!
