Unlock for 5.14.02 and 2.10.04 Coming Soon!
For those who have accidentally updated your iPhone to iOS 4.1, you will notice that your iPhone baseband has been updated as well; 5.14.02 for pre iPhone 4 devices and 2.10.04 for iPhone 4. Your iPhone can no longer connect to your mobile network.
As of October 12, 2010 – there is still no unlock available. However, for a small numbers of iPhone 3G with old bootroom version 5.08, you can downgrade your baseband using Fuzzyband. If the downgrade is successful, you can use your iPhone again.
What is the current work on the unlock for baseband 5.14.02 and 2.10.04? Well, there are already a few parties working on it.
1. Sherif Hashim tweeted that there are initial successes on unlocking these basebands. No ETA so far.
2. Geohot who just released Limera1n a few days ago might also be working on an unlock. He may bundle the unlock with Limera1n apps on the iPhone’s springboard.
3. Chronic Dev team who had just released Greenpois0n mentioned about 2 weeks ago that they will work on the unlock after Greenpois0n is released.
It seems that the jailbreaking and unlocking business is getting very competitive lately. Speculation says that the official unlock will be available just after the release of iOS 4.2. Possibility is no longer the question, now it’s just a matter of time!
In the meantime, you can continue to enjoy your iPhone “touch” for now.

no, they usually announce 2-3 days before the release…
just reading that 3g 4.1 jailbreak has just been released. what does this mean for us with Iphone 3g 4.1 5:14.02 baseband?????

dear admin i have jailbroken my iphone 3g and then unlocked on ios 4.2.1 now the multitasking is not working if open any aap like for example i open phone and then open messages it suddenly get stuck and then goes into safe mode…it always goes into safe mode when the multi tasking is turned on….please help how do i repair it??plz HELP IAM STUCKED!!
