iOS 8 is here at last! If you’re trying to install but kept getting “Not Enough Space” error which ranges from 4.7GB to 6.7GB, here’s a quick fix!
Updating to the latest iOS 8 can either be quick and straightforward or awfully painful. If you own a device that has limited capacity, you might be getting an error while trying to update it. Before you start deleting stuff on your device, there’s actually an easy way on how to install iOS 8 without removing or deleting anything.
While most of us prefer the convenience of updating using the OTA (over-the-air) feature, going back to using traditional method of using iTunes is still probably the best way. Yup, updating via iTunes will solve this problem almost immediately.
The reason why OTA update needs a lot of space is that because it needs to download the whole iOS 8 package to your device. Once that’s done it needs to unpack or unzip the files and then performs the update. If you’re doing this via iTunes, the update files are downloaded directly to your computer instead of on your device, thus allowing you to update without the need to free up space on your device.
Always remember to backup your device before doing any update in case something goes wrong!
