If you’ve been using the older iPhones, to reset it is easy – simply by pressing the home and sleep/wake button simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.

However, the new iPhone 8 together with the new iOS 11 have a new way to reset it. This is due to the new SOS feature added to the device.

On an iPhone 7 and iPhone Plus, the way to reset it is by holding the volume down button and sleep/wake button together. Doing this on the latest iPhone will activate the SOS feature.

How to reset iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

1. Quick press and then let go of the Volume Up button.

2. Quick press and then let go of the Volume Down button.

3. Press and keep holding the sleep/wake button.

4. The Apple logo will appear. Resetting is in progress.

The sleep/wake button is now called as Side button by Apple for iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X for your information.

The whole procedure is very easy. In any case your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus is having any issue, simply repeat the steps above.

The new iPhone X should have the same procedure as well. We will know for sure when it’s officially available by November 3, 2017!
