Apple has changed the way you need to reset or hard reboot your iPhone 7 or 7 Plus if it’s frozen or not responding. Check it out here on how to do it.
Since iPhone was released many years ago, the way you reset the iPhone is pretty much the same way – pressing the home button and sleep/wake button simultaneously.
You need to reset or hard reset if your iPhone is frozen or is not responsive at all. It’s also used during the early days when you need to jailbreak your iPhone.
However, beginning iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the way you reset will be slightly different, although it is still requires you to press some buttons.
How to Reset or Reboot iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus
1. Press and hold both the volume down button and sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds.
2. Your device will reboot and you will see the Apple logo.
The photo below shows how it is done.
What’s the rationale for Apple doing this? It may have something to do with the rumour that Apple will remove the physical home button altogether in the next version of iPhone.
Changing the way to reset it on this model will give some Apple some data and feedback.
