Unlock Blacklisted T-Mobile iPhone 8 Plus

Since 2013, millions of devices in the USA were reported lost or stolen alone. This leads to smartphones being blacklisted by carriers. The blacklist database is shared among all the carriers therefore no users are able to switch carrier.

It’s crucial to identify and verify the status of your iPhone that it’s confirmed blacklisted by the carrier. Since your phone is by T-Mobile, there’s a free checker available offered that you can use to check the most update status.

In the IMEI Status Check box, you’ll need to enter your device 15-digit IMEI. The IMEI can be found under Settings > General > About.

The check will return 4 possible results which are

  • Lost/Stolen
  • Blocked
  • Outstanding Balance
  • Clean

Lost or Stolen Status

WARNING! Our records show that this device has been reported stolen. Unless the status changes, this device will not work on our network or on most other networks around the world.

Blocked Status

“Your device is blocked and will not work on T-Mobile’s network. If you think this is an error, please call Customer Care at 1-877-453-1304.”

Outstanding Balance or Financed Status

This device has an outstanding balance that must be paid or it may not be able to be used on T-Mobile network. For more information or assistance, please call Customer Care at 1-844-353-1260.

Clean Status

“Congratulations! Your device is ready for use. Select one of the SIM cards on the previous page to get started.”

If you get any of the first 3 results mentioned above, your device can still be fixed remotely. You will need to get your device off from the blacklist first before you can proceed with unlocking.

The process to remove the T-Mobile blacklist is done remotely and the completion time frame is from a few hours to a few work days subject to the type of service you choose.

Go to this link to remove your T-Mobile from blacklist in order for you to get it unlocked. Your iPhone 8 Plus IMEI is needed for this service to be performed.

Once the service is delivered, an email confirmation will be emailed which you can verify again on the same free checker tool provided by T-Mobile stated in the link above.

There will be two possible results from the latest check, which are:

“Congratulations! Your device is ready for use. Select one of the SIM cards on the previous page to get started.”

or

“This device has an outstanding balance that must be paid or it may not be able to be used on T-Mobile network. For more information or assistance, please call Customer Care at 1-844-353-1260.”

Then your iPhone is ready to be officially and permanently unlocked. Unlocking the device is highly recommended to avoid any possible re-blacklist by the carrier due to the bad history of your iPhone 8 Plus.

In order to get it unlocked, go to this link to order for the service. Do note that it also supports MetroPCS iPhone.

Just like the blacklist removal, you will receive an email when the unlock is done. Simply swap it with a different SIM card and the device will unlock automatically.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re based in the USA or anywhere in the world. All the steps above are applicable to anyone with a blacklisted T-Mobile iPhone 8 Plus or any model.

The services above support for international use. Therefore, even if you’re no longer in the USA, the same steps described above can be used to get your iPhone’s blacklist removed and unlocked.

Currently, the T-Mobile iPhone unlock is the best performing service as at Summer of 2018 compared to other carriers such as Sprint or AT&T.
