UPDATE: The unlock is out. Please read here.

The guide below will guide you when the new ultrasn0w is due out anytime on November 24 November 28, 2010; or from our previous experience with Greenpois0n, it may be delayed for a few days from the initially mentioned ETA. Be prepared as it may be delayed until November 25, 26, 27 or 28? The words from @Musclenerd of iPhone Dev Team – This Week. We’ll post this as a ‘sticky’ so that it will always be available on top of the main page.

  1. You must have a jailbroken iPhone 3G or 3GS. We trust that you may have already done this either with Limera1n or Greenpois0n.
  2. You must have a working and stable WiFi connection on your iPhone.

Carrier Unlock Steps:

Before you start, please remove the SIM card from your iPhone.

Step 1: Launch Cydia from the springboard.

Step 2: Tap on Manage.

Step 3: Search for ultrasn0w on Packages in Cydia. If you cannot find it, add new Sources by typing: ‘‘ (…sn0w = the digit zero, not O)

Step 4: A new ultrasnow package will be installed. Once done, go to Packages and look for ultrasnow. Tap and install it. During installation, you will see a black screen with running command lines.

Step 5: Reboot your iPhone and insert your SIM card. Toggle the Airplane mode to ON and then OFF. Your iPhone will search and register to your mobile phone network. Please be patient, sometimes it may take up to 3 minutes. If it doesn’t register, reboot your iPhone again.

Congratulations! You have successfully unlocked your iPhone. If you encounter any issue, please leave your comments below.

  2. Hello everyone,
I am using an "old" iPhone 3G os 4.2.1 with baseband 5.13.04. I have been trying to unlock it using Ultrasn0w many times. The procedure is pretty easy and I have read many different web sites with the stating the same instructions on how to use Ultrasn0w. I have followed every step, yet I still cannot get my iPhone to unlock. Any ideas? Totally appreciate any information

  3. Hello!
I bought an iphone 3g os 4.2.1. When we used redsn0w to jailbreak the phone, the baseband was updated to 6.15.00. We unlocked the phone with ultrasn0w and restared the phone. We then put her tmobile sim card in. The phone then says "Searching", but then comes back with a Sim card not found or No Sim card error. Any suggestions?
