While the world is crazy about buying Gevey Turbo SIM, Chinese hackers have developed alternative method of re-writing SIM card to unlock iPhone 4 with baseband 2.10.04, 3.10.01 and 4.10.01.
How does it work?
Using a SIM card reader, the information on your SIM card is decrypted and exported to a file. This file contains your SIM card’s ICCID, IMSI and Authentication Key (Ki) etc. A special software is then used re-write these information and the same embedded program used in the Gevey Turbo SIM onto a new SIM card. The screenshot below shows the output file that contains information from the original SIM card.
This method has been proven to work but requires a bit of time and effort. Generally, the process of exporting the information from your original SIM card will take between 5 minutes up to an hour. Once the information is exported, you will need to use a SIM writer software to write the information on to a new SIM card.
Here’s what you need for this hack:
USB SIM card reader/writer
SIM card decryption software
SIM card writer software
Your own SIM card
Blank SIM card
Once you have hacked the new SIM card, you will need to do the following to unlock your iPhone 4. Note that you will only need to do this ONCE:
Insert your own SIM card.
Dial 112 and drop the call.
Turn on Airplane Mode, insert hacked SIM card and turn off Airplane Mode. Your phone will connect to the network automatically.
The next time you reboot your iPhone – you won’t need to repeat the steps above anymore!
One of the best things about this hack is that you can repeat it on an unlimited number of SIM cards, for as long as you have blank SIM cards available; ideal for those who want to earn extra money or for mobile phone repair shops operators.
